This is a standard principal-and-interest home loan repayment estimate, using the amount borrowed, your interest rate, and the loan term to project a monthly repayment.
The calculator uses the amortising-loan formula: it converts your annual rate to a monthly rate, then solves for a fixed monthly payment that fully repays the loan (principal and interest) over the number of months in the term.
Lenders mortgage insurance, offset or redraw balances, rate changes over the loan term, annual fees, stamp duty and other upfront purchase costs are not included — see the Offset & Redraw and Stamp Duty calculators for those.
Compare this estimate against your lender's formal quote, test both a higher-rate and a shorter-term scenario, and confirm whether your rate is fixed or variable before committing.
Australia-specific contextFigures use AUD and current published rates and thresholds.

It works for either — enter the rate you want to test. It assumes the rate stays constant for the full term, which only holds true for a fixed-rate loan.
Yes. Enter a lender quote when available; otherwise the calculator uses its displayed planning estimate when LVR exceeds 80%. LMI varies by lender and borrower.
The comparison rate includes most fees and is usually higher than the advertised rate. Using it here gives a more realistic total cost estimate.
A longer term lowers the monthly repayment but increases the total interest paid — try changing the term to see the trade-off directly.
